kaOS Intelligence builds the infrastructure for the next era of reading and publishing. We believe access to books and knowledge is a fundamental human right — and that AI should serve readers and creators, never replace them. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, we build for the world.

The problem we solve
Information overload, friction everywhere, isolated knowledge, one-size-fits-all experiences, and access barriers limit who can learn deeply. Traditional learning platforms create friction — complex interfaces, rigid structures, and paywalls. We are building the alternative.
How we're different
Curated, not comprehensive — we focus on depth over breadth. Conversational, not transactional — learning is exploration, not a search results page. Intelligent, not algorithmic — recommendations prioritize quality and genuine depth, not engagement metrics. Open, not proprietary — developers build on kaOS through APIs and MCP.
Our story
kaOS started with a simple question: what if knowledge worked like conversation? Kaleeg Hainsworth — author, filmmaker, priest, naturalist, CEO — was frustrated by how hard it was to explore ideas across books, sources, and languages. Everything was siloed, search was rigid, and learning felt like work. So he built kaOS: a platform where learning feels natural because it is powered by conversational AI and intelligent infrastructure.
Why now
Three things are converging. AI has reached conversational fluency — Claude, Gemini, and Cohere can understand context, synthesize ideas, and engage naturally. Infrastructure is mature — cloud platforms, vector search, and real-time databases make this technically feasible. And people are ready — everyone is used to AI assistants now. The time is right to build knowledge infrastructure that is conversational, intelligent, and accessible.
